Rarely do i ever find a magazine i actually read from cover to cover, but EAT ME is definitely one i recommend. Not only is it visually appealing, but the articles and content are interesting and well written. Day of the dead….

At The Willow Shoreditch, we do numerous catering events/orders for various clients, ranging from our renowned fresh & tasty salad boxes, champagne & canape receptions to more specific catering orders. This particular catering event was for  a fashion press day. The theme was Day of the dead. The final design and menu included: butter shortbread skull biscuits, decorated with coloured icing & pattern, multi-coloured floral popsicle cakes, tropical fruit tartlets with creme anglaise and mini multi-seed wraps filled with mexican style chicken with peppers, refried beans, sour cream, cheese & paprika.

Wedding: Dark & Gothic

following my previous blog and its ‘dark & romantic ‘ theme, here are a few pictures from the lovely Maria’s wedding, late October 2011. Maria wanted to combine dark twigs and foliage with vintage brown roses & accents of honesty (a blast from the past!).  She didn’t want anything too pretty and preferred a slightly darker & gothic aesthetic.  The final bouquet was probably my favorite of the year as it is sometimes nice to break away from the norm & pretty. Let me know your thoughts?

Wedding: Saira & Jon

Late November 2011, Jon finally made a honest woman of the lovely Saira. Jon is the owner of Bacchus bar & Kitchen, a Hoxton gastropub serving the best of british cooking, in a relaxed and cozy setting. Jon, was pretty much our first regular client at The Willow, helping them to create their weekly main and table arrangements, with a simple brief of “just be creative and different”.

So when asked to help with their wedding, i was more than happy to oblige. The inspiration and direction was ‘dark and romantic’. We created similar style arrangements  in 3 different sizes for the various rooms at The Town Hall hotel, in Bethnal Green. A beautiful, georgian-style, converted old Town Hall. The Main chamber rooms where the wedding ceremony took place was just breathtaking.

The flowers used for the arrangements include; cream bloom chrysanthemums, purple asenka lisianthus, mariachi lime lisianthus, black curly willow + dark foliage

it’s been a while….

So much has happened since and i will try my best to update and add images from all the exciting events/weddings/projects we have been doing…. plus, we have recently managed to hit yet another milestone, our 2 year anniversary…YEAH!!!
